In the fall of 2004, Mr. Carl Banks drove up from Lexington, Kentucky to breed his outstanding female, Banks Wind Storm, to our Mountain State Apache.  Carl raised two of the puppies, one of which was Sioux.  We first hunted with her in December, 2005, and although an injury had left her with only 3 good legs, she was amazing.  It took more than a year to buy her from Carl, but Adam and Allen Franklin now own her in partnership.  She is a highly accurate tree dog that stays put and trees really hard.  In her first competition hunt (the 2007 Big Red Spring Challenge), Adam and Sioux won their cast and scored a 2nd place win.

Sioux is out of Mountain State Apache, who is a son of Hall of Fame dog Franklin's Thunder and our own Mountain State Pepper.  Sioux's mother is Bank's Wind Storm, who is a daughter of Mountain Jackson and Banks Windy (Fletcher's Windy).

Apache's Wind Sioux

Adam has entered Sioux in two hunts since we got her.  She won her cast very easily both times, placing 2nd in the 2007 Big Red Spring Squirrel Championship and 4th in  the 2007 WV State Championship.
